"Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and choices you make today." Recently I got this statement from some mail which seem very true to me and as I started thinking over, God has enlightened much more from his word.
Choices are always 'YES' or 'NO' in a given situation. The choices we take always have an impact over our future. When a sinner makes a decision to stop sinning and follow Jesus, his life from then will have the impact of the choice taken by him.All old things will pass away and everything is made new.He is a new creation from there on.(2Cor: 5:17)Choice that Adam & Eve has taken has made an entry for Sin into this world which was made beautiful by God(Gen:3:1-7).Eve just considered How pleasant the fruit looked for her eyes but never thought how much this act of her will hurt the heavenly father's heart. She never even able to predict the damage she was causing to the future of this whole universe by just saying YES to what God said NO - An act of disobedience
As a result she lost the glory that God has given her.She was pushed from blessing into curse, from joy into tears, from being a heir for God's inheritance to be a slave to satan.
But the choice of Joseph(Gen:39:1-23) has been not to yield to the pressure of his master's(Potiphar) wife and sin against his God.Thats the gem of the choices.
"How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" - Gen:39:9
He never feared to face the consequences of rejecting the wicked desire of the authority under whom he was working.Never fearing about his future.Ready to leave the blessing zone which God has given him, willing to do anything and everything for his God.Never craved to impress people at the cost of sinning against God.Even though for a time he has been through unjust punishment.
This choice kept him at the peak most place of a foreign country where he has been a stranger.
How can we make choices that God will find joy in? Bible is the heart of God.He has kept everything in his word he desires for his children to do.What we need to do is to keep his word in our heart.
"I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you." --Psalms:119:11
